Although mobile storage units represent a simple solution for your storage needs, we have attempted to answer any questions you may have. If you have specific questions we have not addressed, don’t hesitate to contact us at 231-865-3523 today!
- How can I determine which size unit I need?
Feel free to give us a call to discuss your particular storage issue. From our years of experience, we can usually determine the best option for you. In some cases, the 20’ container is perfect for a smaller household or business, but the 40’container may be necessary for larger households or businesses with considerable supplies, inventory, equipment, or tools. You will also want to consider the accessibility of your stored objects; if you will need to retrieve things frequently, you will have to allow for space to move about within the unit.
- How is the unit delivered?
If we deliver, we use a tilt bed, roll-off style truck. See our delivery zones and pricing.
- What preparations should I discuss prior to delivery?
We will need to ensure that you have an area as level as possible with adequate drainage. We will also need to consider clearances. As a general rule of thumb, we will need twice the length of the container plus 10 feet in a straight line for the truck to back or pull in. We will also need 14’ overhead clearance on the route to the site and 20’ overhead clearance, free of trees or wires, to unload. When we deliver the unit, we ensure that the route, clearances, and site are appropriate. Should you wish to pick up a purchased unit, you will be responsible for ensuring that you meet those requirements. See our delivery zones and pricing
- Do I need permission to have these containers on my property?
Generally, permission is not needed for short-term mobile container usage, but may be needed for long-term usage particularly in residential areas. We advise you to contact your local city, township or county office to determine any special ordinances that may apply.
- In case of a disaster, such as flooding or fire, will my homeowner’s insurance cover the cost of a mobile storage unit?
In most cases, your insurance will cover such costs. However, since policies vary widely, please consult your insurance agent before leasing a mobile unit.
- May I use your containers for other purposes?
Storage containers are becoming popular for many other uses, including usage for office or living space or moving. Our containers all meet the quality criteria of the International Organization for Standardization as being wind and water tight (WWT). We do not, however, imply that these containers may be used for purposes other than storage. They are not designed to be moved after they are filled. Should you wish to purchase a container for other purposes, we ask you to carefully inspect the container you wish to buy to ensure it is suitable for your purposes. All sales are “as is” and final.
